Quick Start Guide

This guide will help you start using FC Safety Shield quickly and efficiently.

  1. Navigate to the FC Safety Shield login page
  2. Enter your credentials provided by your administrator
  3. Accept the terms and conditions if this is your first login
  4. Set up multi-factor authentication (recommended)

The FC Safety Shield mobile app is available for both iOS and Android devices:

  1. Open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android)
  2. Search for “FC Safety Shield”
  3. Download and install the application
  4. Log in using your account credentials

Once you’re logged in, you can start inspecting equipment:

  1. Locate an NFC tag on a piece of safety equipment

  2. Tap your device to the NFC tag

  3. Complete the inspection form that appears:

    • Check equipment condition
    • Note any deficiencies
    • Add photos if needed
    • Submit the inspection
  4. Review the confirmation showing your inspection was recorded

  • Hold your device close to the NFC tag (within 1-2 inches)
  • Keep your device steady for 1-2 seconds
  • Ensure NFC is enabled in your device settings
  • Complete all required fields before submitting

Access the web dashboard to see comprehensive data:

  1. Log in to the web portal at https://shield.fc-safety.com
  2. Navigate to the Dashboard section
  3. Review:
    • Recent inspections
    • Equipment status
    • Upcoming due dates
    • Compliance metrics

Configure notifications to stay informed:

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications
  2. Enable the notifications you want to receive:
    • Inspection reminders
    • Overdue equipment alerts
    • Deficiency reports
    • System updates
  3. Choose notification delivery method:
    • Email
    • SMS
    • In-app notifications
    • Push notifications
  4. Save your preferences

If the NFC tag doesn’t respond:

  1. Check that NFC is enabled on your device
  2. Remove any phone case that may interfere
  3. Try holding your device at different angles
  4. Verify the tag is not damaged

  2. Check for CAPS LOCK
  3. Reset your password if needed
  4. Contact your administrator

If your inspections aren’t appearing in the dashboard:

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Force sync from the app settings
  3. Log out and log back in
